Gemini is now officially the fastest-growing product in Google's history. The trajectory this year alone:
- Start of the year: 750M
- July: 950M
- Now: **1B+**
That's strictly the standalone product — the Gemini web and mobile app. Per Google, this doesn't include people who just see AI answers in regular search: AI Overviews has its own separate billion users.
One fun stat: over 100M of those users come from the iOS app.
Why it matters
This growth tracks a trend we've covered before: ChatGPT is losing market share while Gemini traffic grew 3.5x, and demand for Google's models grew 2.5x over the past year. Google keeps embedding Gemini everywhere — including the new Siri at Apple.
