Google sharply increased Gemini revenue. Chatbot demand grew 2.5x.
Over the past year, Google's revenue from selling access to AI models grew sharply. According to The Information, improved model quality (versions 2.5 and 3) directly impacted business metrics.
Gemini usage:
- 85 billion API requests recorded in August. For comparison: in March this figure was 35 billion.
- 8 million paid subscribers for Gemini Enterprise.
- 1,500 companies deployed this tool for their employees.
Financials and expenses:
Growing interest in AI is increasing revenue across the entire Google Cloud division, as clients also purchase other infrastructure along with model access.
- $91-93 billion — projected CapEx for Google in 2025.
- This is almost double the 2024 spending level. Investors expect these investments to pay off through cloud services growth.
Andrew Ng noted at Davos that Google is "having a moment" amid the overheated AI market. The company is successfully converting technological achievements into sales.
