OpenAI released a new version of its image generation and editing model — Images 2.5. According to the company, photo editing is now more precise and preserves more detail, and generation speed is up 50% compared to the previous version.
How it looks in practice
I tested the model on a screenshot of my own channel. I asked it:

The model got the subscriber count roughly right. Where the random "janitor" in the screenshot came from is still a mystery.
Why it matters
Speed and precision of editing are what every image generator is racing on right now. Nano Banana recently got an official way to turn off watermarks — another answer to the same demand for more controllable editing. OpenAI is pointing in the same direction: not just a better picture, but faster, more controllable generation.
