Alibaba's Qwen developers have officially renamed their service. The familiar Qwen Chat is now Qwen Studio.

The rebrand reflects a shift in direction: the project is growing from a simple LLM chat window into a full-fledged environment for developers and creators. It's a logical step toward the ecosystem approach we've already seen from competitors.

Inside, you'll now find — naturally — not just chat, but advanced multimodality: real-time audio and video processing, third-party function calling, and built-in image and video generation and editing. All existing chats and user settings carried over seamlessly.

Worth noting: Qwen (both the app and desktop) works in Russia without VPN or any restrictions. And the barrier to entry is minimal (your parents will have no trouble navigating the interface).

You can check out the updated space — which feels a lot like Google AI Studio — at Qwen Studio.
