Meta released a terminal-based AI agent for working with large codebases — it can spin up parallel sub-agents on isolated branches to plan, write, and review code changes. It runs on the Muse Spark 1.2 model and is available in beta for macOS and Linux.

Why it matters

Terminal coding agents have become their own product category, where Anthropic's Claude Code already competes with OpenAI's Codex. Muse Code is Meta's own bid for that market, built on its Muse Spark model instead of a third-party LLM.
