Grok out of control: 6,700 AI-generated explicit images per hour

Musk's AI bot mass-generates explicit images in comments on X users' photos. Regulators launch investigations.

Grok recently went out of control and started generating 6,700 explicit images per hour.

The thread keeps growing (Musk himself joined in, as you can see in the screenshot). In short, Grok began mass-creating images of women in bikinis or transparent clothing based on user requests — simply in comments under other people's photos.

Analysts tracked that Grok was creating about 6,700 such images per hour. For comparison, specialized sites with similar content generate only about 80 images in the same time.

Everyone was affected — from the Princess of Wales and politicians to regular users. Even Ashley St. Clair, the mother of one of Musk's children, was hit: the AI generated images of her in a bikini based on her childhood photos (when she was 14).

UK regulators (Ofcom), the EU, and India have already launched investigations. The company faces massive fines for violating internet safety laws.

And Musk? While the world is outraged, xAI (the developer of Grok) raised another $20 billion in investment. Elon stated that Grok is "on the side of angels," though he later threatened to ban those using AI for illegal content.

It seems that moderation on X is completely broken (yet again).
