Google launched Gemini Spark, a 24/7 AI assistant

Gemini Spark summarizes messages, schedules meetings, and automates routine tasks — it works, but why Google made it a standalone product remains unclear.

Spark summarizes incoming messages, schedules meetings and handles routine tasks — and early tests suggest it delivers.

What Gemini Spark is

It's a standalone Google product, separate from the main Gemini chat interface. Spark is built for productivity: it runs 24/7 in the background, triages inboxes, schedules meetings, and takes over repetitive tasks. Think AI executive assistant, in the cloud.

Why the standalone question matters

Google already has Gemini 3 and an agentic browser built on it. Spark looks like another layer on top of existing infrastructure — with unclear positioning. Either Google is experimenting with different AI assistant formats to find what sticks, or Spark is an early version of something bigger.
