The plugin for Codex takes a repository, a PDF, a research doc, or a pile of raw ideas as input — and outputs clean, editable slides with PPTX and PDF export. Easy to tweak by hand after.
Why it's convenient
My presentations almost always get put together at the last minute — the material's there, but there's no time to format it. It always comes down to templates: half an hour hunting for the right one, another hour nudging margins and fonts. Codex Slides cuts out exactly that part and leaves you with the actual thinking.
Worth calling out separately: the image-to-slides mode — the plugin turns a complex concept into a proper visual slide, not another six-bullet list. It ships with dozens of style sets and ready-made design systems baked in, so you're up and running in minutes. Per the authors, a draft comes together in 3–6 minutes.
Open source
The plugin is open and free — you can install it, see how it's built, and tune it to your own needs. For me, this has long been the deciding factor: a tool that lives with you and that you control beats a pretty service where you're just renting someone else's capabilities.
You can try it right now — the repo is on GitHub: github.com/nexu-io/codex-slides
