Dear vibecoders, don't panic. The interface went down, not the entire platform.
- Down: [claude.ai](http://claude.ai/) and the native app (the usual "Claude will return soon / couldn't connect").
- Working: Claude Code in VS Code, Chrome integration/plugin, and API — meaning IDE/automations and everything that hits the API directly works fine.
- What to do: open Claude Code (VS Code) or switch to API/Chrome, the web will be back within a couple of hours. [Check status/login](https://status.claude.com/) (often it's specifically auth/frontend that breaks).
Official statement from Anthropic:
*"We've determined that the Claude API is working as intended. The issues we're observing are related to Claude.ai and the login/logout paths."*
