Japanese developers released Cat Gatekeeper — a Chrome extension that blocks social media access in an unusually uncompromising way.
It tracks your time on social media, and once you hit the limit, a massive ginger cat crashes onto your entire screen, locking it completely. Scrolling further is physically impossible — the fluffy bouncer will literally make you take a break and touch some grass.
What makes it different from standard blockers
Most tools like this are easy to dismiss: a dialog with a snooze button, or a notification you can swipe away. Cat Gatekeeper takes over the full screen and offers no escape hatch. In the same spirit of unconventional browser extensions: Tweeks.io, which completely remakes any website's UI to match the user's preferences.
You can follow the project and grab the extension from the author's account. Or install it directly from the Chrome Web Store.
