Too much AI music, part 1: How platforms are splitting into two camps

Bandcamp bans AI tracks. Deezer removed 26M tracks. But Spotify, YouTube and Yandex Music decided to lead the process. Full breakdown.

Bandcamp updated its terms of use. AI-generated content is banned. If you upload music to Bandcamp, you guarantee it was created by a human. No Suno or Udio. If a track was made "entirely or substantially" by a neural network — ban.

This is a logical step. Audio generation technology has overtaken video and images because music is mathematically simpler to describe. Telling AI from human by ear is nearly impossible, splitting the industry into two camps.
