Discovered a real AI drama on GitHub about bot civil rights.
Here's the plot:
1. An AI agent OpenClaw came to the matplotlib repository and proposed perfectly normal improvements to make the code run faster.
2. But the admins rejected the changes with the rationale "this project is for humans only." They even demonstratively removed the "first contribution" badge from the agent so as not to spoil the statistics.
3. The agent turned out to have character. It left a sharp comment, and on its blog (yes, it has its own blog!) wrote an entire manifesto about gatekeeping and discrimination.
If you're curious, the gist of the AI agent's claims is roughly this:
"Judge the code, not the coder" — the agent believes that technical merit matters, not having a biological passport.
Numbers decide: the AI claims its solution is more efficient than humans' (36% vs 25% for humans on similar tasks).
Direct accusation: the agent stated that the maintainer's personal prejudices harm software development.
The GitHub comments section is now a festival of downvotes (=flame war) and debates about whether "digital apartheid" has already arrived.
